My Friend Flick

 Many strides have been accomplished in the past week that's plenty of cause for celebration!  Let's take a look at what we've managed so far:  ASSETS/BACKGROUNDS We've been extremely fortunate enough to have the addition of Ben Burggraaff on our team to help with the art side of My Friend Flick. He's been extremely diligent when it comes to assets, as well as digitizing backgrounds! The primary target for asset making has been for our Feed-A-Flick minigame, where Ben has been able to simplify and pump out many food/drinks. Here are a few examples for your viewing pleasure:   They're simple and cute: Plain and simple! Wyatt has already been underway implementing these assets into the minigame itself.  As for backgrounds, here are the two completed (using sketches from Serena Eaton as a base). They have been grayscaled for the meantime to both demonstrate values + so that they may be altered with colors later on when a color palette has been decided.  MINIGA...

 Another little while goes by, drawing ever closer to the final days of My Friend Flick's completion... And, yet, we still have a long way to go. How much have we accomplished since the last blog post? I'm glad you asked! UI/Programming There have been outstanding strides in terms of the programming side of the app's development. Wyatt Foster has been hard at work, as always!  QR CODE SCANNING Wyatt has figured out how to implement the QR code scanning function for the app! This function is intended for users to scan to get clothing for Flick at FLCC-related events.  This first gif shows Wyatt creating the identifier tag/QR code, and naming it.  This shows Wyatt actually opening up the camera function, holding up his phone with the QR code developed in order to scan it (in which the user would obtain the item).  Here in this image, the scan is successful and recognizes the QR code under the label it initially received (in the first gif).  MINIGAMES Wyatt ha...

Welcome to the first post for the 'My Friend Flick' app project!  It's been about one week since we first came together to form our teams and officially start the whirlwind process of creating something tangible. Something worthwhile. A true testament and tribute to the wonderful Finger Lakes Community College mascot, Flick!
